Characters
As mentioned many times before, the characters you see in my comics are exactly that – characters. Though the high majority are inspired by living people/creatures, I’m not pretending the characters ARE their muse. It’s a fine line, but there is one. Most of the muses wouldn’t do anything like the characters do.
In that spirit, let me introduce you to the Closet Characters, who haunt my head, my computer, my sketchbooks and my life in general 
HOW IT WORKS
Each character has its name, a picture of them in the comics, a photo of the muse, the name of the muse and its band (if applying), specificities to help you recognize them in the comics, a short description, and a link to all the comics in which they appear (Comics). Top will take you back to the list.

Juha
Muse: Juha Kylmänen, singer for Reflexion (and For My Pain).
Specificity: Long flaming red hair / chained in the Jail/dungeon
Though Juha was the first character to appear in the Closet, he doesn’t exactly have much of a personality. He’s a bit submissive to the League’s treatments, and very much dreams to get out of the Jail (though he’s secretly afraid of the Outside World). He’s been seen with darker red hair, and semi-long black hair, which will never happen again. Comics – Top
Perttu
Muse: Perttu Kivilaakso, cellist for Apocalyptica.
Specificity: Long, wavy brown hair, beard and mustache, usually bare-chest, often with broken finger(s)
Perttu is a bit fragile: handle with care. Though he seemed also fragile emotionally at the beginning of the comics, he’s gotten a bit more… mischievous with time. Comics – Top
Eicca
Muse: Eino “Eicca” Toppinen, cellist for Apocalyptica.
Specificity: Long blond hair, black shirt with skeleton marks, jeans, sometimes gaffa-tape, sometimes chasing Mikko to get a cello back
Cellos are very dear to Eicca: after letting Mikko audition with one, he vowed that no cello would ever suffer like that again. Eicca is also Gaffaman: if there is something broken, he’ll fix it. With gaffa-tape. Comics – Top
Jonne
Muse: Jonne Aaron Liimatainen, singer for Negative.
Specificity: Short to shoulder-length blond hair, long eyelashes, blue eyes, general girly looks/attitude/aspirations
By the time I jumped on the Negative bandwagon, Jonne Aaron had this very girly look going on: makeup, girly clothes and accessories, etc. The Closet Jonne retained those characteristics. He’s naive but not, innocent but not, pink, and sparkly. He’s usually sad to be reminded he’s not a girl. He’s devoting his affection to Larry and Kris, depending on my mood

Larry
Muse: Lauri “Larry Love” Markkula, guitarist for Negative.
Specificity: Long, curly brown hair, mole on the right side of his mouth, open vest, jeans
Larry is cool. He’s laid back. He’ll stoically watch something happen and seemingly not react. His general thought on pretty much everything is something along the lines of “…riiight.” or “Yeah. Whatever.”. He’s one of Jonne’s target of affection. Comics – Top
Jukka
Muse: Jukka “Julius” Nevalainen, drummer for Nightwish.
Specificity: bandana, beard, long, tied dark hair
Jukka doesn’t quite have a personality in the Closet, mostly because he hasn’t appeared here much. Mostly that time naked in the snow with the rest of the Nightwish characters…. Comics – Top
Tuomas
Muse: Tuomas “Maestro” Holopainen, keyboardist for Nightwish.
Specificity: Long dark wavy hair, beard and mustache, bracelets
Tuomas is quite shy. He’ll be very mature and look unimpressed when confronted with weird behavior, or downright creeped out, but present him with anything cute or adorable or Tony and he’ll be squeeing.
He’s closely protected by the League. Comics – Top
Emppu
Muse: Erno “Emppu” Vuorinen, guitarist for Nightwish.
Specificity: long blond hair, short, mischievous expression, usually with other Nightwish characters
Emppu is a player and a charmer, much like his muse’s public persona. He hasn’t appeared much in the comics, but at least we know that Marco is better than him at videogames. Comics – Top
Marco
Muse: Marco Hietala, bassist for Nightwish.
Specificity: Long blond hair, viking beard
Marco is, well, a viking. Or as Finns pronounce it, Wiking. He’s proud and fearsome and he doesn’t exactly care what you think. He’s very good at video games. Comics – Top
Jussi
Muse: Jussi Selo, singer for Uniklubi
Specificity: brown/dark hair, often a lipring on the right side
Because Jussi was a regular subject of the League, his looks have changed a LOT over time. He’s had shoulder-length black hair, then beard, then short brown hair, then no hair at all, then a mullet. He’s had his lipring on and off, too.
Personality-wise, he used to be very fearful of the League, but with time he got a lot more cocky and tends to stand up for himself and/or his friends. He’s very close to his brother Janne and his… Masa. Comics – Top
Janne
Muse: Janne Selo, guitarist for Uniklubi.
Specificity: long blond hair, bandana, white shirt with a star, black vest & pants
Just like their muses, Janne and Jussi are brothers in the Closet. Janne was the first… patient for the League and keep bad memories of it. Though he won’t stand up against the league on hair matters (he knows he deserves it), he will be quite… threatening on anything close to the matter of his… height. Favorite weapon: bricks. That he’ll hurl at your head. He’s Wiwian’s best friend. Comics – Top
Kris
Muse: Jukka Kristian “Sir General Christus” Mikkonen, previously guitarist for Negative, currently for The Salvation.
Specificity: funky hairdo (black and/or blond), pink, monroe piercing and lipring
Kris is, overall, quite naive and innocent. No, really. He kinda sees the world in pink. If it’s pink, it’s good. If it’s weird – and pink – it’s good. He likes to tease his friends playfully and to generally have fun. I must admit, I – She-Who-Hates-Pink – have grown to like him. Comics – Top
The Muff
Muse: The Muff, singer and guitarist for Naked.
Specificity: a giant, fluffy, shady hairdo, white tank top, jeans, SEXY SHOES
The Muff is quite mysterious. He’s never doing anything. …THINGS disappear around him. He never understands why. But I suggest you stay away from his hair.
He has the most awesomest shoes ever. Well, sometimes. Valo keeps stealing them. Comics – Top
Teemu
Muse: Teemu Rajamäki, bassist for Uniklubi.
Specificity: no constant; usually relatively short dark hair, dark clothes, being harassed by dealing with the League
Teemu was very early on a… patient of the League. Facial hair, changing hair style, wearing dresses, you name it, he’s done it. Though he also has become cockier, he’s still very much wary of the League, with good reason. He has this ongoing rivalry with Waury, in particular. Comics – Top
Pinkass
Muse: Priscillia “Pinkass/Pinkachu/Pinkcess/Pastlink” Sicuranzo, one of my best friends.
Specificity: semi-long black hair with bangs, nose ring, hot pink long-sleeve shirt, black pants
Pinkass is one half of the League. Though she mainly follows Waury’s lead on beard matters, she’s very adamant about protecting hair – especially Juha’s. She (obviously) loves pink and the people in it, and otherwise goes merrily about her business. Comics – Top
Waury
Muse: Me (Laurie “Laury M. Dragon” Lacroix, the author).
Specificity: medium-length purple hair, labret piercing, black pants, black t-shirt with a red rectangle, red-and-black arm warmers (“Teemu arms”)
Waury is the League’s leader. She spots and chases down stupid people Finns who are not applying the rules and punishes them accordingly, though she’s a bit less confident now that said Finns are less afraid of her. Still, she inspires enough fear to do her duties. She was formerly known as She-Who-Hates-Pink, for obvious reasons, and managed in her adventures never to come close to anything pink besides Pinkass. Comics – Top
Jussi69
Muse: Jussi “Jussi69″ Vuori, drummer for The 69 Eyes.
Specificity: spiky short black hair, muscled, half naked
Jussi69 is mostly being… kept around for … material reasons, which he doesn’t like. He’s usually awkward whenever he appears in the comics, because, well, material reasons. Comics – Top
Mikko
Muse: Mikko Sirén, drummer for Apocalyptica.
Specificity: medium-length blond hair, unbuttoned white shirt, black markings on his right eye
Mikko loves cellos. Maybe a bit too much. After trying out for the band, Eicca revoked his right to ever touch one again – which, much like it would do to any kid, only reinforced his desire to play. So you’ll see him running away with one, usually chased down by Eicca. His second favorite exercise is to annoy Paavo L. Comics – Top
Antero
Muse: Antero “Mr CO^OL” Manninen, ex-cellist for Apocalyptica.
Specificity: short blond hair, combed back neatly, round sunglasses, serious look
Even if Antero’s muse hasn’t officially been part of Apocalyptica for over a decade, he has a very strong fanbase, and he’s generally awesome, which is why he appears here. He is a serious, posed classical cellist. He also loves to make people believe is blind. Which he’s not. Comics – Top
Theon
Muse: Torsti “Theon” Makinen, singer for Lovex.
Specificity: short blond hair, eyebrow ring, sometimes with a top hat and/or a chihuahua
Theon is a self-assured, theatrical performer with an attitude. He loves to show off, to get attention and is very annoyed when he thinks someone copied something off him. He has this love/hate relationship with Wiwian, who he uses as his steed when he feels like being a superhero. He also has Mini, the chihuahua. Comics – Top
Wiwian
Muse: Risto “Vivian Sin’mor” Solopuro, guitarist for Lovex.
Specificity: short, spiky black hair (manga-like), dark clothes (often with red markings), annoyed look
Wiwian definitely needs anger-management therapy. He’s awfully jealous of everything that comes close to Theon, and tends to get a bit… aggressive. His favorite weapons are sharp, and he recently got an awesome axe. The microphone is his worst enemy. Comics – Top
The Microphone
Muse: Theon’s microphone in the photoshoot for Lovex’s Divine Insanity’s.
Specificity: old-fashioned, 50′s-looking microphone on a stand
Yes, the microphone gets an entry as a character. See, Wiwian is such a jealous bitch so aggressive toward it, it has become a very passive, but incredibly smug element of the comics. It doesn’t really do anything, actually, except appreciate Theon’s attention and suffer Vivian’s wrath. Comics – Top
Valo
Muse: Ville Valo, singer for HIM.
Specificity: oval head, thin, usually beard and mustache, vaguely curly hair
I’ve had those very insisting requests for HIM appearances in my comics, even if I’m absolutely not a HIM fan, and I finally gave in a few times. He has become Muff’s official nemesis, as he stole the SEXY SHOES that were first Muff’s property. You’ll see them chasing one another around. Comics – Top
Janne P. (Octopussy)
Muse: Janne Pajari, singer for Day Eleven.
Specificity: long dark dreadlocks, hoodie
Janne P. only had a few appearances but he makes his most remarked one sporting an octopus on his head, following my friend’s comparison of his hair. He’s lead his own bandmates on a crusade for pants. He’s quite unsure where he stands with the League, but like any respectable Finn, he’s wary of them. Comics – Top
Matti
Muse: Matti Lötjönen, guitarist for Day Eleven.
Specificity: Long wavy blond hair, blond pinch
Matti doesn’t really have a personality in my comics, as I’m actually not really familiar with his muse in the first place. He’s a bit withdrawn but he’ll follow the leader (Janne P.). Comics – Top
Luca
Muse: Luca Di Giovanni, drummer for Day Eleven.
Specificity: long brown hair, nose ring, pink underwear
Luca likes to play drums in his underwear. Preferably pink. And he doesn’t agree with his bandmates that he should put on some pants, sometimes. Comics – Top
Kimmo (The Glaring Finn)
Muse: Kimmo Kärkkäinen, bassist for Day Eleven.
Specificity: beanie hat, mustache and beard, hoodie
The Glaring Finn was based on the misconception that his muse was looking annoyed/angry all the time. I made a comic about it and it stuck. The actual character (not the person) is actually quite glarey, and after a brief scare with the League, has become one of their nemesis. Comics – Top
Olli
Muse: Olli Sopanen, guitarist for Day Eleven.
Specificity: nose ring, blue hockey helmet, often with a pool stick
Olli is a very happy-go-lucky guy, sporting his lucky helmet all the time. He believes that pool sticks are the most useful accessories there can be. Comics – Top
Jyrki69
Muse: Jyrki “Jykri69″ Linnankivi, singer for The 69 Eyes.
Specificity: dark short hair, leather clothes, goth look
Jyrki69 believes he’s a vampire (the non-sparkly-though-not-spontaneously-combusting-in-the-sun kind). He actually hasn’t appeared much in the comics, and some of those times were unfortunate (my own fault, I guess). Comics – Top
Alarik
Muse: Alarik Valamo, drummer for Bloodpit (The Cloudycators).
Specificity: long, wavy light brown hair, tongue piercing, naive look
He’s actually about as naive as his expression suggests, but in the way that he doesn’t get worried over much. Likes beer and candy. And Aleksi. Comics – Top
Mikko U. (Thumper)
Muse: Mikko Uusimaa, bassist for Reflexion.
Specificity: short red hair, often with bunny accessory
Mikko U. hasn’t actually said anything in the comics, but he’s known as “that cute red-headed guy with bunny ears” because, for some reason, the nickname Thumper stuck to him. He only lives up to the bunny-and-cute parts, as he’s usually quite calm. Comics – Top
Antti Anatomia
Muse: Antti “Anatomia” Aatamila, bassist for Negative.
Specificity: semi-long red dreads, spike labret, open vest
Antti Anatomia is hyper and outspoken. He’s a very adamant promoter of turtleness, and will not hesitate to shove one in your face (usually his own, Vihtori the turtle, DUUUDE). He’s also the Ant(t)i Hero. Comics – Top
Vihtori the Turtle, Duuude
Muse: Antti Anatomia’s real life turtle.
Specificity: small, shelled, with an attitude
Vihtori was first called Duuude as I didn’t know its name, but then (a reader) told me its name. In great parts due to Antti Anatomia’s praising, Vihtori has developped the certainty that turtles are the next best thing (which they are) and will prove it to you. It generally leads the other Closet animals. Comics – Top
Ville (Lil Lii)
Muse: Ville Liimatainen, singer for Flinch.
Specificity: tendancy to provoke accidents or fails, usually blond hair (short to medium-length)
Lil Lii got his name from the fact that his muse is the youngest of the Liimatainen brothers (Tommi, Jonne, Ville). Generally quite naive and vaguely clueless, he’s adorable despite the numerous… incidents that seem to follow him. Comics – Top
Matthau
Muse: Matti “Matthau Mikojan” Mikkonen
Specificity: relatively short, dark hair, pinch
The early comics’ Matthau was very different from the current ones, but you can’t see that cause the first ones have disappeared (muahahahahaha). Nowadays he’s mostly convinced that he knows the solution and is awesome. Comics – Top
Pasi
Muse: Pasi Viitala, guitarist for Uniklubi.
Specificity: long, tied brown hair, beard and mustache
Pasi hasn’t really appeared much in the comics either, and he seems often to wonder what the hell he’s doing there. He’s otherwise quite acceptant of it. Comics – Top
Jay
Muse: Janne “Jay Slammer” Heimonen
Specificity: none
Jay has appeared about 5 times in comics, almost every time with a different look. Usually though, he has relatively short dark hair. He’s got a bit of an attitude and doesn’t like to be messed with. Comics – Top
Mini The Chihuahua
Muse: Theon’s real life chihuahua dog of the same name.
Specificity: black and white, surprised look
Mini is constantly wondering what’s happening around it, and it never has a clue. It also ends up in funny places – in a hat, buried in the snow… Comics – Top
Alexi
Muse: Alexi “Wild Child” Laiho, singer and guitarist for Children Of Bodom.
Specificity: long blond hair, pinch, looking badass
Alexi has this very cool, hardcore look going on but he’s really an adorable softy. The Million Dollar Baby Seal is his best friend. Comics – Top
Janne Warman
Muse: Janne “Warman” Wirman, keyboardist for Children Of Bodom
Specificity: long untied brown hair, beard without mustache
Janne Warman only appeared once in the comics, as Alexi’s counterpart. He is pretty much following Alexi’s lead in general. Comics – Top
The Millon Dollar Baby Seal
Muse: none
Specificity: white baby seal with big shiny eyes
The Baby Seal appeared first to illustrate Alexi’s soft heart. It’s pretty much just being there and being cute. Comics – Top
PK (Phantom Keyboadist)
Muse: none
Specificity: is a ghost?
PK is the ghost of a very prolific, unnamed keyboardist who, like too many of them, was overlooked by his fans. He does now what he did for a living: play keyboards and being unnoticed. He’s a bit annoyed by it though. Comics – Top
Antti M.
Muse: Antti Matikainen, drummer for Uniklubi.
Specificity: short reddish hair
Much like many of my characters, Antti M. would benefit from anger management sessions. But then it’s not all his fault, cause we just tease him when he’s grumpy. Usually seen around Teemu. Comics – Top
Linde
Muse: Mikko “Linde” Lindström, guitarist for HIM.
Specificity: very long blond dreads
Linde hasn’t appeared much (twice…?), and is accordingly usually unsure how to react to his existence in the Closet. Is generally shy. Comics – Top
Commodore The Red Tie Sheep
Muse: Las’s plushie Commodore The Red Tie Sheep
Specificity: is a white sheep, wears a red tie
Commodore’s original personality was developped by his owner Las, and has been adapted for the comics. He’s got an attitude and is vaguely vain, but he’s a very nice g- hum, sheep. It has to be mentioned, he’s gay. Comics – Top
Japa
Muse: Japa/Jack Smack/Jack Leopard, guitarist for Private Line / The Salvation
Specificity: short black hair, nose ring
Japa is cool, and don’t you dare say otherwise. He especially don’t like chihuahuas and has no shady items of clothing in his wardrobe. Comics – Top
Paavo
Muse: Paavo Pekkonen, guitarist for Bloodpit.
Specificity: long brown hair in a bun, beard and mustache, glasses
Paavo is a very easy-going guy, very much liking his beer. Even sober, he’s just seeing the world in flowers and butterflies and birds. Comics – Top

Aleksi
Muse: Aleksi Keränen, bassist for Bloodpit.
Specificity: oval head, medium-length dark hair
Aleksi is generally a bit grumpy, but that’s just because everyone’s picking on him. Or so he explains. Comics – Top
Emily The White Tie Sheep
Muse: my own black(-dyed) plushie sheep.
Specificity: is a black sheep, wears a white tie
Emily is Commodore’s goth cousin. She wasn’t always on the dark side, but followed Comm’s steps in anti-conformity. She self-assured and dislikes being made fun of, which Commodore loves to do. She loves hard rock and metal, and otherwise artsy, theatrical performances. Comics – Top
Sammy
Muse: Sami “Sammy” Aaltonen, singer for Private Line.
Specificity: short blond hair, nose ring
Sammy has mostly been the vicitm of looks theft by many other characters, which annoys the hell out of him. He aims to be unique and original. Comics – Top
Lauri
Muse: Lauri “Lintu” Ylönen, singer for The Rasmus.
Specificity: short spiky black hair with feathers
Lauri is, so far, just reaaaaally weirded out by the other Closet Characters. Can’t really blame him, actually. Comics – Top
Paavo L.
Muse: Paavo Lötjönen, cellist for Apocalyptica.
Specificity: black mohawk, sometimes glasses, often cello
Paavo L. is very much hyperactive. He’s usually easy-going with people, but you don’t want to annoy him. He’s doing enough exercise to take you on. Be nice, or beware. Comics – Top
E.Vil
Muse: Elias “E.Vil” Viljanen, guitarist for Sonata Arctica.
Specificity: long light brown hair
E.Vil has only appeared once, sharing his rocker looks with us and being awkward in the League’s presence. Comics – Top
Gary
Muse: Tuomas “Gary” Keskinen, ex-Negative guitarist
Specificity: short, light brown hair, a bit spiky on the sides
Gary only appeared once, as his muse was only briefly part of Negative. He was rather uneasy at the band’s enthusiasm to hire him, too (Gary, not the muse). Comics – Top
Jann Wilde (The Wilde Mime)
Muse: Jann Wilde, singer and guitarist of various bands named after him.
Specificity: large heap of dark, fluffy hair, much makeup, and weird clothing
Jann is a bit clueless and theatrical. He also tends to get on the diva side, and is disliked by Pinkass. He can be vaguely scary. Comics – Top
Chulian
Muse: Juho “Julian” Järvensivu, drummer for Lovex.
Specificity: semi-long brown hair with a large fringe, shy/awkward look
Chulian is the baby, and he’s not allowed to ever grow up. He has undertaken the duty of the cow suit, but he’s reaaaally uneasy about it. I’m guessing it wasn’t his idea. Comics – Top
Masa
Muse: Matti “Masa” Lehtonen, tour manager/manager/roadie for too many bands to list them all here.
Specificity: light brown hair tied in a bun
Masa is one of the kinda-exceptions group, as his muse isn’t currently in a band. He used to be though, so it’s ok. Closet Masa is a bit awkward in here, since he’s not used to the limelight like band guys are. He’s also a bit awkward around Jussi, but for other reasons. Comics – Top
Rumors
Muse: none.
Specificity: long, wavy flaming red hair, white tank top, blue jeans, tongue piercing
Rumors is probably my favorite character. Whether their gender is male or female is undisclosed, so let’s use “They”. They love to forward information – no matter if it’s true or not, as long as it’s interesting or funny. That tendency annoys Facts considerably, of course, and I suspect they’re related. They’re usually quite easy going and smiley and friendly. Comics – Top
Facts
Muse: none.
Specificity: short, classy blond hair, large round glasses, white shirt, blue jeans
Facts is Rumors’s counterpart. He detests gossiping and spreading false information, and will promptly step in to correct people. Sometimes, he’s lucky, and the truth is actually to his advantage. Comics – Top
Osku (The Scary One)
Muse: Oskari Salo, drummer for Flinch.
Specificity: black mohawk, shaved sides, black clothes, labret, frowney eyebrows
Osku’s muse first appeared in the Finndom when Flinch got a new lineup. As he looked scary in the promo pics, he was named The Scary One, and it stuck (though he’s not really). Closet Osku is, however, kinda moody, and generally looks a bit annoyed/angry, but it’s mostly the eyebrows. Also, he has to put up with Lil Lii. That counts. Comics – Top
Antti R.
Muse: Antti Ravín, singer for Bloodpit.
Specificity: shadow of a beard, unkempt dark hair, dark clothes
Antti R. is a bit… unfocused, but you could take it as being laid back. His lyrics are funny

Love
Muse: none.
Specificity: short cropped blond hair, black shades, yellow shirt, blue jeans, blind walking stick
Love is blind. Love hits people hard on the head when they least expect it. He’s always surprised when he fails, but he recognizes that it happens. He doesn’t like to see his friends fighting. Comics – Top
Marko The Butterfly Ballerina
Muse: Marko Saaresto, singer for Poets Of The Fall.
Specificity: black beanie hat, shadow of a beard, orange tutu, usually followed by a butterfly
Marko the Butterfly Ballerina was inspired by the ballerina moves his muse makes onstage. He is a sage and completely just generally enjoys the simplest truths of life, though paradoxally he’s also a bit naive. Also, he has no clue about the butterfly. Comics – Top
The (Ninja) Butterfly
Muse: none.
Specificity: orange, following Marko the Ballerina, is a butterfly?
The Butterfly was at first only there to characterize Marko, but it turns out it’s actually a ninja butterfly, and it’s keeping a close eye on the ballerina. Who knows why? Perttu likes it, he thinks it’s pretty. Comics – Top
Tony (Mr Happy)
Muse: Tony Kakko, singer for Sonata Arctica.

Pietu
Muse: Petri “Pietu” Hiltunen, guitarist for Bloodpit.
Specificity: relatively short dark hair with lighter highlights, piercing on the left side of his lower lip, plushie dog in tow
I don’t know much about Pietu’s actual muse, apart from his love for his giant dog, soooo, I made Closet Pietu to seriously always have a plush toy of it along. He’s quite reasonable otherwise. Comics – Top
Tommi
Muse: Tommi Liimatainen, band manager and head of record label Hype.
Specificity: long blond hair (in a bun or not), beard and mustache, long sleeve shirt and/or suit
Tommi is that other exception in the closet as his muse is not in a band. However, as the oldest of the Liimatainen brothers (Ville, Jonne, Tommi) and as a prominent figure in most of the closet bands’ lives, it was only a matter of time before he appeared here. He’s serious and organized and businesslike, which is to be expected considering his position. He also likes to blow up things. Comics – Top

Specificity: oval head, long dark hair, relaxed clothing, right eyebrow ring
Mr Snack actually appeared a few times already – but this is by far the best one. He’s relaxed, thoughtful, patient – but he has his limits. Don’t test them. Comics – Top

Muse: partially Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood
Specificity: Long white hair with a V hairline, short white beard, golden eyes, long white coat
Time is technically neutral, but he’s really a nice guy. It’s not so much about what he does, than what people do with him. He likes to just go by and watch people carry on with their lives. Comics – Top
